If I have the time I will be adding more improvements in later versions. Also fixed the cursor alignment issue on menus in the world like the scanner room and cyclops menus. Made the cursor visible when using mouse and keyboard and not using the gaze based cursor option. Until I figure out a better way, I'm doing it by messing with the body position so the body won't look quite right if you look down but the change to the PDA is worth it. I made a significant improvement to the PDA position and scale. Minor change to the Seaglide position to increase visibility The walk speed option is found under the General Tab in the Options menu. Let me know if you all think the screen is too big now.Ī slider has been added to adjust the walk speed in VR since I did not like the default 60% walk speed. Subtitles have been shifted up so they are now visible in VR. The PDA has also been scaled up and hopefully positioned for easier reading. The Seaglide will no longer block your entire field of view, all tools are fully visible and the PDA is no longer stuck to your nose ). I'm posting your change list here for others to see:Īdds an option to enable VR animations under the General Tab in Options and fixes the badly positioned player model. The Seaglide blocking half my field of view is particularly maddening. Thanks! I haven't downloaded it yet, but your mods would fix all of the problems I've encountered in the couple of hours I've played so far. Jump scares and being creeped out from enemies is still way up there though, ha. I still get a split second of PTSD whenever I get into a body of water for the first time in a while but I never have such a feeling in VR as I'm so used to VR that I know whatever is happening in it isn't real. It took until I was about 24 after many attempts of friends (a few I almost ended up drowning with me from pulling them down) teaching me to swim, and until then at least get me in a pool enough times that I eventually got over it. Yeah, I know it's possible to lose the fear because I used to have a water phobia from having blackout-drowned almost a half dozen times before I was even 10 years old.īasically to describe how it felt to me in my phobia was that when inside a pool of water deep enough to not be able stand in with my neck and head above the water line it was like the entire world scaled 100x away from me (think like the city shifting/curving up in Inception) and the water below me felt like an infinite dark chasm of dark death that I was about to fall into, and I would physically tense up and freak out. Haha, totally didn't realize I dropped a pun. Remember to always hit F2 before playing when you are in your normal seated position to reset your VR position. Makes the loading screen more comfortable to look at.Without the mod, if you heard a sound on your right side and turned your head in real life to look in the direction of the sound, you would continue hearing the sound on your right side when it should be heard from the front. Fixed the issue where the position of sounds in the game would be in the wrong direction if you turned your head in real life instead of turning with the controller or mouse.Added an option in the General tab to disable the HUD unless you're looking down to help with the issue of the HUD obstructing the PDA.Renaming beacons seem to work properly now as well, when using the mouse and keyboard. I made the cursor visible when using mouse and keyboard and not using the gaze based cursor option.
